Let’s cut to the chase, because the simple answer is, that when the work needs to be done by someone, that someone is typically going to be you! Annoying, I know !

Anyone who has experienced significant growth will likely mention that at times, it can feel like they are moving forward, whilst others are not. They are developing great insight into their feelings, thoughts and behaviours and yet, those around them are still perpetuating the same patterns. They are trying out new ways of being, whilst others don’t seem to like this and are responding in ways which feel unsupportive or even unkind. Sound familiar?

Often in the therapy room, we can lament about how hard we are working to grow and evolve, when it would just be so much flipping easier, if the people around us sorted their own stuff out, so that we weren’t impacted so deeply by it.
